If your tastebuds were tantalised by my post on Sake no Hana and if you are a regular reader of my blog, then there’s a strong likelihood that you might be interested in the drinks masterclasses which Sake no Hana’s bar is running.
The ‘Straight Up’ masterclasses are priced at £30 per person and they take place on Tuesday evenings at Sake no Hana in Mayfair (6:30-8:30pm) as well as on Saturday afternoons at Hakkasan on Hanway Place.

And the series of ‘Straight Up’ masterclasses on 9th July, 23rd July, 6th August, 13th August 2013, continue with:
- Americano / Negroni cocktails and variations
- Glenfiddich Malt Scotch Whisky (with Jamie Milne)
- Margarita / Daiquiri and variations
- Suntory Japanese Whisky and ice carving (with Zoran Peric)
On the following dates, Sake no Hana will also be running a series of Sake masterclasses:
- 6th July
- 3rd August
- 7th September
- 5th October
Each class will start at 11am and the half-day events will offer an introduction to the history of Japan’s national drink, an understanding of the culture of sake, with a particular focus on how and when to drink it.
You will be invited to try seven different types of sake and one umeshu – a traditional Japanese plum wine – followed by lunch at Sake no Hana’s sushi counter, for £60 per person.
