3 Cromwell Road opened its South Kensington doors last week. Located opposite my favourite building, the Natural History Museum, this gorgeous Georgian building has been a bar hangout of various styles over the years and I have just learned that even Jimi Hendrix once played a live performance here.
Comprising of three floors which include a first floor restaurant – The Drawing Room; a ground floor cocktail bar – The Back Room; and a downstairs club – The Basement, 3 Cromwell Road can fit about 300 people in total.
The team behind 3 Cromwell Road includes co-owner Howard Spooner, who also co-owns Dukebox and was the principle shareholder at Public. He also owned well-known Chelsea nightspots The Leopard Lounge, Embargo and Crazy Larry’s.
The Drawing Room is open daily for dinner and drinks from 6pm to 1am, as well as weekend lunches from midday. The Back Room is open daily until 3am, and The Basement is open Thursday to Saturday until 3am.
Unfortunately I couldn’t make it to the launch party last week but I did request a few photos of the venue to give both myself and my readers an idea of what to expect from the venue. As for the cocktail menu, I’m very intrigued to find out what the staff at 3 Cromwell Road are serving up. If you’ve already had a look and a taste, do let me know in the comment box below what you discovered. It’ll be a short while before I can indulge in my love for cocktails again. Seriously counting down. 😉
But in the meantime, do you want to take a look inside 3 Cromwell Road? Here you go …
