The Olympics kicked off for me on Duke of York Square. I watched the Opening Ceremony with a large crowd who were also ignoring the threat of more showers, to celebrate the start of London 2012 with the rest of Chelsea.
As Danny Boyle wowed us with an amazing spectacle, I popped open a gift which I had received from the very kind guys at Aubrey Doyle.
The Opening Ceremony screening was due to end around 11′ish because of Duke of York’s licence but thankfully by then, part one of Danny Boyle’s show was over. So we legged it down the King’ Road and popped into Black and Blue to catch the end of the ceremony – whilst sipping martinis and ordering late-night snacks.
And after, we ended up in Kosmopol – an Olympic night in every way.
The next day was the Men’s road cycling race, which passed through Knightsbridge and Chelsea …
After which we headed to Exhibition Road to taste a few of Eat Street’s delights include Bosco & Bee who I’d heard so much about.
Normally they make pizza in their wood fire oven but on Saturday I tried their thai chicken which was so succulent and tasty. I was really impressed!
With a return visit to Evans & Peel speakeasy bar and the next day, the women’s road cycling along with my own 2 and a half hour cycle ride round Richmond park, I would say that the weekend was perfectly healthy in every way. *clink!*
