Festival of British Roots

If you’re looking for something to do this weekend, the Festival of British Roots will be taking place on Friday and Saturday along Portobello Road and Golborne Road markets.

There will be a cookery demonstration with foodie author Alan Rosenthal who will be cooking up yummy root dishes using produce from the market stalls. There will also be free sample tastings of root dishes – including parsnip cake – conceived by private chef and food writer Sabrina Ghayour. And Hummingbird Bakery will be selling special-edition Beetroot & Chocolate cupcakes all weekend.

The Festival of British Roots will place on Friday 27th January between Colville Terrace and Talbot Road, and on Saturday 28th January, it will be between Talbot Road and Westbourne Park Road. You won’t be able to miss the light blue vegetable flags flying overhead.
