My Harley Davidson Ride along King’s Road

So, perhaps your impression of a Harley Davidson owner is Marlon Brando in The Wild One:

Most likely, it could be more akin to the Hells Angels. But when you meet Charlie, the Warr’s Customs designer on King’s Road, both preconceptions are blown out of the water!

Charlie builds custom Harleys for the cool dudes who come into the King’s Road shop, including Jenson Button whose latest ride is sponsored by Evisu (the middle one):

In fact, the more I spoke to Charlie the more I discovered that the Harley is still a classic boy toy, as it has always been:

And always having had a thing for motorbikes, I asked Charlie if I could take a ride on the back of one. He said, yes!

He took me for a ride along the King’s Road, the embankment, around Parliament Square and through Knightsbridge, before heading back down King’s Road to the Warr’s shop.

It was amazing and I took photos during the entire journey. If you want see them, there’s a Facebook photo album. Also, if you want to see Charlie’s other Harley pics, take a look at Warr’s Custom’s Facebook page. There’s a lot going on there.

Finally, I’d like to thank Charlie not just for an amazing afternoon but for a very cool Warr’s t-shirt which I will be wearing and which I will take a photo of, so everyone can see. I love it!

Marlon Brando rode a Triumph, not a Harley!
