Au Pere de Nico: Chelsea’s swinging restaurant from the 60s and 70s!

During the end of the 60s and the beginning of the 70s, Au Pere de Nico was the Chelsea restaurant to be seen in. Its crowd was made up of Society as well the “Court Crowd” who were actors that made their way over from The Royal Court Theatre.

So what remains of this restaurant’s legacy? Well there are the autographed menus from the “Who’s Who” of London Society during the swinging sixties:

These signed menus will be sold at Anderson & Garland’s Newcastle Auction room on Tuesday 13th September. The menus are lot 474 and are estimated at £1000 – £1500. Included in the lot is a sketch by Paul Winner of the Restaurants interior, dedicated to Leo and dated August 18th 1973.
