Olympic Cycle Race Test: Fulham Road, Chelsea

This morning I was woken up by the sound of a helicopter hovering over Chelsea and knowing that the streets of London were relatively safer, compared to this time last week, I knew it had to be one thing: the Olympic Cycle Race Test.

So I dragged myself out of bed and walked onto Fulham Road to find …

The streets were empty. But eventually, the cyclists arrived en masse …

This was the start of the race so there weren’t any break aways, just yet.

There was also a before and after entourage. So if you’re a cycle geek, the spare tyres on show were a feast for the eyes.

A couple of hours later, the sound of the helicopter returned and so did the cyclists …

And this time, there were a few more people on Fulham Road …

Needless to say, my Bikeminded Brompton also waited for the cyclists to return.

And who won? GB’s Mark Cavendish! Italy’s Sacha Modolo came second and France’s Samuel Dumoulin, third. Well done guys!
