So how’s life as a Bikeminded bike hero going? Interesting, though not as interesting as it could have been in my first month if August were a tad bit sunnier. C’est la … British Summer Time!
But all in all, yes it’s been fun. I’ve discovered that cycling through the backstreets of Chelsea is the best way to get around SW3 and SW10. Have you ever noticed how long King’s Road is? I have too many times, especially when running late. Either I end up jumping on a bus or in a black cab; whichever arrives first. But with the Brompton, I’ve learnt to whizz along from one end of Chelsea to the other. And no, I don’t really take the main road. There’s usually too much traffic. I usually nip down Sydney Street and take Cale Street, heading for Chelsea Green and towards Sloane Square via Cadogan Street. It’s such a breeze!
I’m not sure why I’ve never cycled round Chelsea before. Seriously, before now the only time I’d get on my bike would be when I’d be heading away from King’s Road. How things have changed! So here’s to a decent September and an unusually warm October. Now, that would make my bike hero days fun!
